Foreigners can mortgage properties in Thailand. However, there are some conditions as follows:
- Mortgage repayment may not exceed a period of 7 years
- The bank will finance maximum up to 60% of the property value in case of foreign loan application
- The foreigner has to work in Thailand and must be in the possession of a working permit for at least 2 years
most of the financial institutions in Thailand provide loans for real estate purchases. If it is required by the client C&M can assist to get a competitive financing package from a financial institution. After the down payment has been paid, the sale contract will be made and the balance amount is paid through the loan which is financed from a financial institution. The financial institution requires you to mortgage the property with it as collateral against the loan.
